Fellowships
Legal Fellowship
The Fellow will be an integral part of the ACLU-NC’s civil liberties and civil rights impact litigation under the supervision and with the mentorship of experienced staff attorneys. This work will include active participation in case development, strategic planning, media work and a wide range of litigation and advocacy tasks. A portion of this fellowship is specifically dedicated to reviewing and responding to problems and potential cases related to the exercise of civil liberties by students and teachers. The position, however, is not project-based and the Fellow should anticipate working in a number of civil liberties areas, such as racial justice, freedom of speech and association, criminal justice and government infringements on civil liberties in the post 9/11 environment.
