Complaint Counselor Volunteer Opportunity


Civil Liberties Counselor Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze and screen calls about civil liberties issues and present them to a staff attorney
  • Serve as ACLU representatives to the general public;
  • Provide information and referral services to callers

Position Requirements:

  • Strong commitment to the protection of civil liberties and a desire to help those who contact the ACLU-NC
  • Ability to work well with the public
  • Good telephone skills
  • Knowledge of basic counseling and interviewing techniques
  • Knowledge of current ACLU polices, issues, and cases

Current Positions Available:

Monday Counselor:
needed to answer calls on Monday from 10 AM - 3 PM

Tuesday Counselor:
needed to answer calls on Tuesday from 10 AM - 3 PM

Thursday Counselor:
needed to answer calls on Thursday from 10 AM - 3 PM
