Come to a Volunteer Activist Night
Learn more about the ACLU's work on the death penalty and how you can get involved by attending our next Volunteer Activist Night Thursday, Feb. 28, 6-8 pm. Click here for more information or RSVP by sending an email to volunteers@aclunc.org.
Attend a Public Hearing
For the past 2 years, the California Commission on the Fair Administration of Justice has held public hearings to investigate problems in California's criminal justice system and is now looking into the death penalty. The ACLU of Northern California is coordinating a contingent of activists to attend the final hearing on March 28 in Santa Clara. Email organizing@aclunc.org if you'd like to join us!
Host an Event
The ACLU-NC and coalition partners have created the Faces of Wrongful Conviction Speakers Series Toolkit to bring the voices of exonerees to communities across California. By continuing to speak out against the failures of the criminal justice system generally and the death penalty in particular, exonerees like Gloria Killian give voice to the voiceless: the unknown number of innocent men and women languishing in California's prisons and on its death row. The toolkit contains everything necessary to host an event about wrongful convictions: lists of speakers and films, discussion guides, fliers, email announcements, and instructions. Download the toolkit.
