SXSW Interactive is a major annual technology and media conference that brings together startups, software engineers, investors and venture capitalists, and established companies like Google and Microsoft. It's a great opportunity for privacy advocates to reach out to these movers and shakers in the tech world.

We need your help to make sure that privacy is on the SXSW agenda.

ACLU-NC proposed two panels for the 2011 conference and we're participating on an Electronic Frontier Foundation proposed panel.

Since panel proposals are accepted in part based on voting by the public (that's you!), PLEASE HELP US GET PRIVACY ON THE AGENDA BY VOTING for our panels. You'll need to create an account in order to vote. Cast your ballot for:

  1. I Can Has Appz & Privacy Too?, ACLU-NC panel looking at privacy issues that emerge when social networks open up to third party apps.
  2. Big Brother on a Big Screen, ACLU-NC discussion of how government surveillance has caught up with the fables dreamed up for Hollywood flicks.
  3. Legal Bootcamp: Electronic Privacy Law for Internet Startups, EFF's panel on outdated privacy law featuring the ACLU-NC's Technology and Civil Liberties Policy Director.

Vote now, because voting closes on Friday, August 27th.

THANK YOU!
