We are delighted to welcome Tamar Gubins and Hari O'Connell to the ACLU of Northern California Technology and Civil Liberties Program. Tamar and Hari will be working with the Program for the next year, working on online privacy, free speech, and other issues related to the intersection of civil liberties and emerging technologies.
Tamar is a 2009 graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law at UC-Berkeley, where she was a fellow at the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology and a Senior Annual Review Editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. She holds a B.A. from Oberlin College in Politics, and has spent time working in the financial and media research fields. Tamar joins the ACLU-NC with the support of the law firm of Goodwin Procter in New York City.
Hari is also a 2009 graduate of Boalt Hall, where he served as a Legal Research and Writing Teaching Assistant and was an intern with the Samuelson Law, Technology, and Public Policy Clinic. He holds a B.A. in Literature from Yale University. Prior to law school, he spent several years as a software engineer and legal research assistant. Hari is a deferred associate with the law firm of Howard Rice in San Francisco.
We are delighted to have Hari and Tamar join us as we ramp up our efforts to protect online privacy and free speech and ensure that as technology advances, civil liberties are not left behind. Please join us in welcoming them!
