RUNOFF ELECTIONS

On June 8, 2010, every county in California (except Los Angeles and San Francisco) voted on a new District Attorney. Only 18 counties had contested elections. Out of these 18 counties, 5 counties will be holding runoff elections on November 2, 2010. Below is a list of these counties, the candidates who ran, the results of each election (including the percentage of votes received), the issues of the candidates in the runoff elections, and links to their campaign websites and/or facebook pages.

Contra Costa Del Norte Humboldt Lake Mendocino


Contra Costa County

Elle Falahat: 15.70%
Mark Peterson: 47.44%
Dan O’Malley: 36.51%

  • Expand Elder Abuse Unit and implement licensing program for caregivers
  • Address gang violence by implementing countywide Gang Task Force
  • Assign "Community Prosecutor" for each part of the county
Mark Peterson (website)
  • Fiscal responsibility by denying funding to programs until effectiveness reviewed
  • Prosecute all crimes and address "gang bangers" with civil gang injunctions
  • Better tracking/prosecuting sex offenders and child molesters who fail to register


Del Norte County

Jon Alexander: 38.63%
Robert Drossel: 28%

Harry Liddicote: 7.04%
Michael Riese: 26.33% (Incumbent)
