CA AB 1539: Sentencing

Status: Signed by Governor (10/14/07)
Author: Krekorian [D]

Inmates who are terminally ill, pose no threat to the public, and require 24-hour total care may be re-sentenced or have their sentences recalled.  This bill makes the procedure more accessible and protects prisoners’ due process rights by requiring the Department to keep the prisoner and family apprised throughout the process.
