Today the San Francisco Board of Supervisor's will vote on a proposed resolution expressing their support for the Breast Cancer Fund's ad campaign, "Obsessed with Breasts." Outdoor Systems, the company that administers advertising displays at the city's bus shelters, has rejected the ads saying they are "too shocking" and "too provocative."

In an open letter to the Board of Supervisors, the ACLU states that Outdoor Systems action is a "blatant act of censorship" and "clear abridgment of free speech principles and values." The ACLU urges the City to "take steps to insure that the powers it has in effect delegated to Outdoor Systems not be used to suppress speech based on its content."

The purpose of the ad campaign is to call public attention to a health crisis that impacts women throughout the Bay Area.
