Civil Rights, Human Rights Groups and Community Organizations Call for a Stop to the INS Special Registrations

WHAT: Civil and human rights groups and community organizations throughout the Bay Area are calling for an end to the INS Special Registration Program that has led to the detention of hundreds of Middle Eastern and Muslim men and boys. In January, demonstrations were held in 30 cities around the country protesting the INS program. The protests drew the historical connection to the shameful WW II internment of 120,000 Japanese Americans.
