Some say the ACLU is a family tradition. Certainly, ACLU members come in all ages. Here, Harrison (4 years old) demonstrates his pride in being a member of an ACLU family.

Legacy Challenge

What is the Legacy Challenge?

If you name the ACLU Foundation to receive a bequest through your will or living trust, our generous donor, the Robert W. Wilson Charitable Trust, will make a cash donation today equal to 10% of your future gift’s value, up to a maximum match of $10,000.  To see if your gift qualifies - contact us.

How does it work?

1. Complete a bequest provision for the ACLU Foundation in your will or living trust.

2. Tell us about it. (Click here for the Legacy Challenge Matching Form)

3. A cash donation up to $10,000 (10% of your future gift’s value) will be made by the Robert W. Wilson Charitable Trust.

Why Act Now?

The ACLU is working hard today to overcome profound challenges to civil liberties like the Patriot Act and the administration’s unlawful spying on ordinary citizens. We are leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to restore the Constitution and reclaim our constitutional rights.

We can never forget our responsibility to make certain that the ACLU will be there to protect freedom far into the future. Were it not for the foresight and imagination of civil libertarians of years past, we would not be as strong and capable as we are today.

That's why we must act today and for the future to ensure that our liberties are defended for generations to come.  You can do both by accepting the Legacy Challenge!
