Previous Youth Conferences

Every spring, the Friedman Youth Project’s Youth Activist Committee organizes a conference that brings together hundreds of high school youth from throughout Northern California to discuss, debate, and strategize about some of the most important issues of our times.

The event features a day of workshops, performances, and speak-outs on youth rights and youth activism. 

The last conference was held on March 9, 2006 at UC Berkeley.  Workshops were offered on many topics including:

• Youth in the sex industry
• Racial profiling
• Military recruitment tactics, myths, and realities
• Queer rights
• Reproductive rights
• Death penalty
• Immigration rights
