Access Denied: A Youth Study of Education, Employment, and Economic Justice We are 27 high school students from Northern California. This summer, we spent eight days investigating a civil liberties topic of our choice: economic justice. Our purpose was to learn more about education, employment, and economic justice. We visited over 20 organizations and individuals representing education, criminal justice, labor unions, housing, outreach, service provision, community organizing, advocacy, policy-making and more. We traveled from San Francisco to Watsonville, Salinas to San Jose, and through Oakland, Rocklin, Berkeley and Livermore. We are now facilitating educational workshops in classrooms and communities throughout Northern California to pass on what we learned. What follows is a record of our reflections and impressions about our investigation.»Download (3 Mb) |
