Join us to feel and think – through poetry, film, history and a community conversation – about the contours of torture: where we are, how we got here, and our way forward.

The event, which includes an open mic portion, readings, discussions about the effects of torture on victims and communities, and an excerpt from the documentary "Taxi to the Dark Side," will conclude with a town hall community meeting to discuss pivotal questions such as:

  • How do we keep responsible people and institutions accountable for committing torture?
  • How can we strengthen our movements to create a world where torture is rejected?

Location:
SF Public Library (main branch), Latino/Hispanic Meeting Room B
