Cyera Boone is the Administrative Organizing Assistant at the ACLU of Northern California. In this capacity, she supports department leadership in planning and staffing all organizing functions, including community engagement, coalition building, and the ACLU-NC chapter program, among other duties.
As a former staffer in the California State Legislature, Cyera has a strong commitment to public service rooted in her experiences growing up in San Bernardino, the nation’s second most economically disadvantaged city. Cyera’s recognition of the systemic issues that impact communities nationwide has fueled her ambition to help ensure that people everywhere have access to their rights and liberties.
Cyera is a graduate of California State University, San Marcos, where she majored in political science and was named to the honor roll for three consecutive years. While in college, she volunteered with the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, assisting sailors, Marines, and their families with financial assistance, educational scholarships, and other support.
After graduation, Cyera served on the board of Sacramento Black Young Democrats where she had the honor of serving as a liaison between the public and government officials. For the last five years, she has also supported her partner’s service in the United State Marine Corps.
In her spare time, Cyera enjoys going to the movies, thrifting for treasures, eating Ethiopian food, and riding her bike.
