We’ve been here before, and we’re ready.

We have no doubt that if Trump realizes his vision, more immigrant families will be separated, more people will be denied lifesaving reproductive healthcare, and the federal government will be weaponized against protesters and political opponents. And we know that’s just the start. 

But to do all of this, Trump has to get past all of us. This is not President Trump’s America. It’s ours.

The ACLU has been around for over a hundred years and seen 19 presidential administrations come and go. We haven’t just been preparing for a second Trump term since January 7, 2021 (though we do have the playbook to prove it). We’ve been preparing since 1920. 

We’ll be ready for Trump on Day One because we don’t get ready; we stay ready.
