Human Resources Director

Kelly Joseph is the human resources director at the ACLU of Northern California. In this capacity, Kelly is responsible for leading the human resources team to support the organizational goals through impactful staff partnerships, strategy, and inclusivity.

Prior to joining the ACLU, Kelly was the director of human resources for the Peninsula Jewish Community Center where she successfully led an integration of staff that resulted in the organization doubling in size, within a year.

Kelly has also worked in human resources for San Mateo-Foster City School District and Emery Unified School District. Prior to that, she managed temporary staffing service offices focusing on general administrative placements.

Kelly is a graduate of the University of San Francisco, with a B.S. in Business Management. She holds certifications from the Society for Human Resources as a certified professional (SHRM-CP); from the Human Resources Certification Institute as a Professional in Human Resources in California (PHR-CA); and from the University of South Florida in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace.

Kelly is co-president of the American Association of University Women’s San Francisco branch. She also serves as their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator, and is on the selection committee for Tech Trek, a STEM summer camp program for 7th grade girls.

Kelly is a native San Franciscan who loves basketball, tennis, and traveling. Her favorite workouts are Barre, Zumba, TRX, and Pilates.
